Meet Jude!

Jude 2Jude is a handsome, active, one year old boy. He loves to play, watch birds outside the windows, chase his feline housemates around, or cuddle up with one of them. His male buddies have played a strong mentoring role in his life and he thrives in their confident, tolerant presence. He is rather shy of humans and it took some time for him to trust his foster mom. He was found living on the street, near the waterfront when he was younger and vulnerable, and had to learn to survive on his own.

He has grown very comfortable living indoors, but loves to go out on the enclosed deck to experience the fresh air and outdoor sounds, perhaps a better view of the nearby woods. He would love a safe outdoor space but could be a flight risk if allowed to wander off – he is easily frightened by anything unfamiliar.

Jude 1Jude is very independent but also has his softer side; he will sometimes quietly sneak up to sit or sleep nearby his human. He doesn’t like to be picked up but responds with purrs when his soft fur is petted.

He goes through phases of fascination with water, sometimes jumping into an empty tub to wait for that trickle of water from the faucet when his person obliges his whims. He also likes the bubbly fountain so he may just prefer his water fresh from the tap and moving. That doesn’t mean he wants a bath, of course.

He has good litter box habits, and is always ready to pounce on balls and furry toy mice tossed to him, or a moving, dangly toy with strings at the ends. He would be a great companion for another cat, preferably a male cat that is confident and easy going. A submissive cat can lead him to believe he is in charge and tempt him to pick on his friend. He needs a stronger feline role model to keep him in line. Once friends, Jude will be devoted and good company for your resident cat.

Jude 3Jude would do best in a quiet, adult home without children; strangers and sudden noises can send him into hiding. He is comfortable with his foster mom and could transfer that trust to a patient, understanding person who will give him time to adjust to new surroundings.

Jude (SAS ID #29127176) is waiting patiently in foster care for your call. Please contact Joan, his foster mom, at wolfbird50@comcast.net if Jude seems like a kitty that would fit well into your life and household. If, after 24 hours, you have not received a reply, please contact the Foster Care Hotline at206-684-0685 to arrange a meeting. Thank you!
