On Fridays, we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Freddy 2Meet Major Leaguer Freddy Garcia!

Freddy Garcia is a delightful cat looking for his home team. While no longer a Mariner, he’d like to retire in Seattle. Please read his highlights and call the foster care hotline at (206) 684-0685 to see for yourself!

Highlights:

  • Freddy 1Skills – Although retired from the major league kitten play, Freddy still enjoys some short term play with tissue paper, his crinkle tunnel and peacock feather. Play time is followed with a nap in his favorite chair or sprawled out among his toys.
  • Leisure – Freddy enjoys chin scratches, full body massages and morning conversations. The way his short, curve ball tail wags is sure to amuse you.
  • Team player – Like a true athlete, Freddy is a team player and would likely enjoy the company of other cats, but no dogs, please.
  • Nutrition – A diet free of grains has helped keep Freddy fit in retirement.
  • Home field – Freddy would thrive in a moderately active home with children over the age of 8. He respects the field and only uses his scratching pad for practice and consistently uses the mound (litter box).

Freddy 3Freddy has been benched in foster care for almost two years. His prior family surrendered him after 11 years when their team was moved. Freddy would be a friendly addition to any family looking to provide for a retired player with plenty more years of minor league play. Are you ready to trade in your loneliness and sign Freddy to your home team?
