On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.
Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Meet the handsome Lars!
You never know what will turn up at the Seattle Animal Shelter – this week its Lars the Black Swede/Mallard mix duck. Lars was found as a stray near Lake Washington.
Lars is a handsome and well-behaved fellow who’s a little shy at the shelter. He’d love to join a flock with other ducks and chickens. He has an old wing injury that is now healed and both wings are in good flapping condition!
More About Pet Ducks: Potential adopters need to provide a predator-proof pen or aviary, and a roomy space for their ducks to free roam and forage, preferably with a paddling pool/place to bathe.
Ducks are adopted out as **pets only–not as livestock**. Adopters are expected to make a lifetime commitment to their pet duck, and have done research on their care and needs. Like all pets, domestic fowl should go to a vet for an annual checkup, or anytime they may be ill.
