On Fridays [this week, it’s Saturday due to Thanksgiving] we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.
Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

The Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation is pleased to offer a Home for the Holidays promotion. From November 29 through December 14, the adoption fee for most animals over 6 months old will be reduced to only $15, plus applicable licensing fee. Some exclusions apply, such as exotic birds. What’s are the holidays without a little Pumpkin?
Just in time for the holidays, here’s a ginger colored cat named Pumpkin! This beautiful seven-year-old boy is shy with strangers but turns friendly and loving once he gets to know you.
He likes to cuddle on your lap or curl up beside you, to sleep on the bed with you, and to let loose with a monstrously loud purr when contented. Feathers and curly things which can be batted about are his favorite toys, and he also enjoys a good brushing session.
Pumpkin is a well-mannered cat who faithfully uses his scratching post and litter box, and doesn’t jump onto counters or other forbidden places. He thinks he is cat enough for any household and would not welcome any feline competition.

In addition to the Home for the Holidays promotion, Pumpkin also qualifies for theSenior Citizen Discount program: senior citizens or disabled adults with a “Gold Card for Healthy Aging,” or a “FLASH” card, issued by the City of Seattle, will have the adoption fee waived and receive a 50% discount on the licensing fee.
