Pet of the Week

On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Maple 2014-11-20 1Meet Maple the Magnificent!

Hello! I’m Maple the Magnificent. Magnificent because I have it all: brains, athleticism, loyalty, and affection to give. Can you give me what I need in return? I’d love an active family, perhaps one that jogs (I’m an excellent jogger!) but with a relatively peaceful home life.

Maple 2014-11-20 3A fenced yard in a quieter neighborhood would be great, but I can be flexible. I need my family to help me grow my confidence, and once we bond, which happens pretty quickly, the sky’s the limit to what we can accomplish together.

I’m a young, female, shepherd mix. I’m spayed, house trained and up to date on my shots. I may be happy living with a calm, neutral dog, or I could be your only dog.

Maple 2014-11-20 2My forever family should be adept at reading dog body language, and be ready to love and train me into the next, happy chapter in my life.

Maple (SAS ID #14-17524) is currently at the Seattle Animal Shelter but will hopefully move to a foster home soon. Dog Adoption Applications are available in the Shelter lobby, or you may download the application and bring it with you to the Shelter or follow the directions to submit it via email or fax. If you have general questions about this dog – or want to know if she is still at the Shelter –you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at 206-386-4294.
