Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Oso

Pet of the Week

On Fridays [this week, it’s Saturday due to Halloween festivities] we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Pooky & Duke (fun pair of senior dogs) – available for adoption
Mama (lap cat) – available for adoption
Puma (beautiful grey kitty) – available for adoption
Bunnies (Bella, Luna & Roscoe) – adopted!
Chinchillas – Pascale & Ariana (bonded pair of females) available for adoption
Willow & Sage (petite female rats) – adopted!

Oso 2014-10-30 3Meet Oso!

Hi, I’m Oso! I’m a cute, cuddly, playful, one year old, Chihuahua mix guy who is sure to bring fun and excitement to your life. Although I’m always eager to meet new people and pets, I need slow introductions before I’m comfortable rolling around on someone’s lap.

Oso 2014-10-30 2Once new connections are made, I love a good belly rub, walks, and an occasional game of fetch. I’m happily living with another small dog currently. We hang out on the couch, sleep together, and sometimes play. We are a great pee-mail tag team on our walks!

I will do best in a home without children and away from busy streets – I’m just a small dog in a big world!

Oso 2014-10-30 1My new home needs to have experience with shy/reactive dogs or be willing to enroll in training classes with me to continue my progress towards being a confident pooch. Let’s meet and get acquainted!

Oso (SAS ID #14-18818) is being adored in a SAS foster home. If you would like to meet him, you must first submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download the application and follow the instructions for submitting via email or fax. Or you may pick up an application at the Shelter. If you have general questions about this dog, you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at (206) 386-4294.
