Pet of the Week

On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Pooky & Duke (bonded pair of senior dogs) – available for adoption
Bella (dilute torti kitty with loads of personality) – adopted!
Mama (lap cat) – available for adoption
Bunnies (Bella, Luna & Roscoe) – available for adoption
Chinchillas – two available for adoption

PLUS: Cool City Pets Open House this Saturday, 1-3pm
Swing by the Shelter this Saturday (10/18) and meet some of the great small critters we have available for adoption. We’ll have animals out and about for you to meet, plus extra volunteers on hand to answer your critter care questions! (Small critters include hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice.)

Meet Puma!

Puma 2014-10-16 2.Puma is a lovely kitty looking for a forever home after a rough start in life. Found in a grocery store parking lot, a Good Samaritan brought her to the shelter. She has bounced back from that rough start and now loves to play with the feather wand and chirp out the window at squirrels and birds.

Puma is estimated to be about 12 years old but don’t let her age fool you—she is as active as cats half her age! Unfortunately years of untreated inflammation have left her hard of hearing. She is not completely deaf, but should be indoors only for her own safety. Her ears require no expensive treatments or vet care, just typical cleaning.

Puma 2014-10-16 3Ms. Puma would love to be the apple of your eye as an only kitty in a home that will give her ear scritches, playtime, and lots of love to make up for the years she spent abandoned on the streets. A laid-back dog that would not chase her might also be an option after a proper introduction. Her ideal home is one where she can snuggle her human, make air biscuits on your arm, and then nap the day away in a cozy perch with a nice view of outside. She faithfully uses her scratching post, has excellent litter habits, and plays well with her toys. Could your home be the forever one for this adorable girl?

Puma (SAS ID #13-6404) is being adored in a SAS foster home, you won’t find her at the Shelter. If you would to meet her, please call the Foster Care Hotline at (206) 684-0685 to arrange a meeting. Thank you!
