Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Dante
On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.
Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.
Updates on previous pets:
China & Vesper (chinchillas) – available for adoption
Neva (Siamese kitty) – adopted!
Godiva (black & white kitty) – available for adoption
Murasaki (Calico kitty) – available for adoption
Slim (corn snake) – available for adoption, now in a foster home, call 206-684-0685, or send email
Hi, Dante here. I am an 8 pound bundle of energy and spunk! My life hasn’t always been the best, but I have that survivor attitude of “look on the bright side.” I’m about three years old, I love to go for long walks, and I’m working on my manners; I’m getting very good at “leave it” and beam at the praise and treats I get for my hard work!
I am currently in a foster home with two senior dogs (a Greyhound and a Dachshund mix). While I get along with them, my heart belongs to my foster mom. I much prefer the company of humans and my ideal home would be with a person(s) who works from home or a retired person or couple, so we could spend lots of quality time together.
I’ll do best in an adult only home, kids are a little scary to me. I’d like my new home to have some dog experience and be willing to continue working with me on my manners (its a great way for us to bond!) and confidence.
I really don’t like to be left alone, but my foster mom is helping me build my confidence and that’s helping a lot. I’m ok being left alone for a few hours at a time now, but I’m not ready to be left alone for a full work day yet. Besides, I think you’d miss me a lot if we were apart that long!
Dante (SAS #14-14067) is being adored in a foster. If you would like to meet him, you must submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download the application and follow the instructions for submitting via email or fax. Or you may pick up an application at the Shelter. If you have general questions about this dog, you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at (206) 386-4294.
