Monica 1Meet Monica!

Hi, my name is Monica. I’m nine years old, but I’m still pretty playful – just watch me playing in my video! According to the humans, I’m a domestic short hair with gray and white and a bit of tabby, but I prefer to think of myself as the Sweet Happy Shy Girl. What I mean by that is: I don’t like much commotion around me but boy, do I love to be petted and lay around in a nice quiet environment with my human.

I don’t want to be in a house with a lot of other cats, but if there was one and he or she was gentle with me, we could certainly get along. I’d probably also do best if there were only a small number of humans (and no children) in my home. It’s not that I don’t like people, it’s just that I take a while to feel comfortable around new people, and the more moving around there is, the harder it is for me to get comfortable.

Monica 2In my foster home, the routine I’ve gotten into is retreating to a nice safe place, like a little cat cave, during the day, and in the evenings I come out looking for affection – sometimes people even worry I’m going to hurt myself the way I throw myself down in my eagerness to be pet, but it’s worth it when the reward is a nice gentle stroking of my back and belly.

I would love to find a new home with you. I can’t promise that I’ll be a lap cat, but I can promise that I’ll be as gentle with you as you are with me. And once I settle in, I’ll be a sweet, happy companion.

Monica (SAS ID#28926188) is being adored in a foster home; you won’t find her at the Shelter. Please contact the Foster Care Hotline at 206-684-0685 to arrange a meeting with Monica.
