Portage no more, Cioppino takes its place

A reader tipped us to a change at 2209 Queen Anne Ave N last night – not sure how I missed this one, but the signage must have just gone up or I was totally oblivious when I walked by the other day (possible when you have a hyper puppy in tow)… Local French restaurant Portage is now Cioppino Ristorante Italiano.

Searches are turning up pretty much nothing on the new spot; the sign is up, but the menu in the window is still Portage’s last menu (and, it’s Thanksgiving, so no one is around as you can see in the photo).

According to a November 2nd post on Portage’s Facebook page, the owners “are moving on to a new venture in Fremont on 36th street this winter. Portage has a new owner who will continue to satisfy your foie gras fix.”

Stay tuned for more info on what looks to be a new Italian spot on Upper Queen Anne!
