Of the more than 100 restaurants featured in Seattle Restaurant Week, which runs through Thursday, October 28 (excluding Friday and Saturday), 13 can be found right here in Queen Anne.

Seattle Restaurant Week participants offer $25 three-course dinner meals and some offer $15 three-course lunch meals, Sunday through Thursday. Check out the options on the hill:

FOLKpark hosts Happy Hour on the Hill Saturday

This weekend Queen Anne-ers will have an opportunity to enjoy some of the neighborhood’s best eats, while supporting our own local nonprofit, FOLKpark. The volunteer organization dedicated to revitalizing Lower Kinnear Park has put together Happy Hour on the Hill event/fundraiser this Saturday, August 28 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

A $15 ticket will get you access to a bunch of ‘happy hour’ discounts at local restaurants and sweet shops. All of the proceeds will go toward helping FOLKpark reach it’s Department of Neighborhoods Matching Fund requirement. The organization won the $100,000 city grant earlier this month, and needs to raise at least $50,000 to be awarded the funds, which will be used in the upcoming design development phase of the Lower Kinnear Park Enhancement Plan. The following Queen Anne locations are participating in Happy Hour on the Hill:

Betty – $8 drink and appetizer combo
Paragon – $5 Martinis and $7 Appetizers
Eat Local – Free farro salad with any purchase and get 2 bottles of Viognier for the price of one at $16.98
Chocolopolis – $1 Chocolopolis truffles (limit 2) & 50% of a chocolate drink
Wink – 15% off all cupcakes

Tickets are available at any of the participating locations, or can be purchased at the Uptown Stroll and art walk this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Counterbalance Park (at Queen Anne Ave N and W Roy St).

The fundraiser in being put on in conjunction with the Greater Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce. If you can’t make it to Happy Hour on the Hill, but would like to donate to FOLKpark, you can make a donation via PayPal on the organization’s website.

Seattle Restaurant Week looking for your ideas

The inaugural Seattle Restaurant Week in April was such a success, another one is planned for October.

Four Queen Anne restaurants were involved in the first week, including Betty, Canlis, Crow, emmer&rye, How to Cook a Wolf, Ponti Seafood Grill, Portage, Ten Mercer, Paragon, and Via Tribunali. This time around, organizers are turning to Seattle residents to find out what restaurants they’d like to see on the list. Offer up suggestions via Twitter (@SeattleRW) or look for them on Facebook. Each restaurant submitted will be contacted to join in the 10-day foodie celebration.

The second Seattle Restaurant Week, from October 17 to 28, will offer the same deals as the first–a $25 three-course dinner menu and optional $15 three-course lunch menu, Sunday through Thursday.

Nine Queen Anne eateries participating in first ever Seattle Restaurant Week April 18-29

The inaugural Seattle Restaurant Week, described by organizers as “the biggest celebration of dining out that our region has ever experienced,” is kicking off this Sunday, April 18 when 106 of the best restaurants across town will offer 3-course dinners for $25 Sunday-Thursday until Thursday, April 29.

Not surprising, nine Queen Anne restaurants are on that list:

“Queen Anne is making a huge showing for Seattle Restaurant Week, drawing people from other neighborhoods and definitely keeping their own neighbors happy,” wrote SRW PR representative Heather Jensvold.

Paragon & Peso’s voted QA’s best happy hours

GoTime.com, a national online happy hour guide, has come up with the best happy hours in Upper and Lower Queen Anne, naming Paragon the king of the top of the hill, and Peso’s the ruler of Uptown.

Using user-generated voting, GoTime created a top ten list for happy hours all over Seattle, organized by neighborhood.

They also combined the data from all the neighborhoods to create one massive Top 100 happy hour best-of, in which Peso’s came in fourth for the whole city, after Umi Sake House in Belltown, and The Hi-Life and Matador in Ballard. SeaChordsmen Barbershop Chorus Carols Queen Anne

The SeaChordsmen Barbershop Chorus will bring their melodious harmonies to Queen Anne businesses on Monday, December 15, from 7:30 – 10:00 pm.

The Seattle SeaChordsmen, founded over 50 years ago, is a locally incorporated chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. It is their mission to “promote and encourage singing barbershop music, good fellowship and charitable activities in the Greater Seattle area with special emphasis on vocal music education in local schools.”

Following their tour of the hill, the group will visit the nearby Paragon (2125 Queen Anne Ave. N.) for some additional informal singing. Come along and join in the harmonies.
