A couple of weeks ago Molly Moon’s asked Seattle neighborhoods to tweet them suggestions for where to park their brand new ice cream truck, and Queen Anne was among the winning ‘hoods to get a first taste of the sweet new mobile ice cream experience.
Enough fans in Madrona, Ballard and Queen Anne tweeted the ice cream makers begging them to swing by, that we won first route rights! In fact, we hear the truck was parked outside of Queen Anne’s own Eat Local from 3 to 5 p.m. yesterday, Sunday, June 6.
I didn’t get a chance to stop by myself, but I hope others in the neighborhood did! Maybe if we send them some more love over Twitter and the blogosphere, they’ll come back to Queen Anne soon!
(Thanks to Jeanna Barrett for the tip!)

This just in from our sister site MyWallingford: boutique ice cream shop Molly Moon’s is looking to expand beyond its two stores in Wallingford and Capitol Hill this summer. That’s right, Molly Moon’s has decided to ride the Seattle mobile food wave, and has taken to the streets on four wheels!
Molly and her crew first hit the road with their Salted Caramel, Scout Mint, Theo Chocolate, and many other flavors this month to serve ice cream-deprived areas. The Molly Moon’s ice cream truck will make its maiden stop far from Puget Sound — at this weekend’s Sasquatch Music Festival at The Gorge.
But next week the truck rolls back into town, and Molly wants to know where it should make its first Seattle stops. As Queen Anne is a prime summer spot for tourists and Seattleites alike–thanks to the Seattle Center, EMP and Pacific Science Center for all landing within a few blocks of one another–we suspect we just might get a little Molly Moon’s ice cream action. But it never hurts to make a suggestion! Add Queen Anne and other suggested hot spots to the growing list on Facebook or send Molly a tweet. Yum!

Kaosamai is a cute little Thai restaurant in Fremont that has received many awards and numerous raves and rating. And they just happens to have two mobile take-out trucks that park on opposite sides of Queen Anne hill every weekday.

After hearing good things, I stopped by the Nickerson location (it parks at the Shell mini mart at 3 West Nickerson) to try the cuisine, and was thoroughly impressed with the takeout offerings (I got a combo with pad thai, red curry and spring rolls – yum!)
The other truck is parked at the Center for Wooden Boats at 1010 Valley Street. Both trucks are staked out around the hill Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.They are also available for private catering. Check their website for more info.
