The old Upper Queen Anne Blockbuster building finally has a new tenant. Umpqua Bank is opening its new Queen Anne branch tomorrow, Wednesday, July 20, after pushing the opening date back a month.

The bank will be giving away free bags of Umpqua Blend coffee all day tomorrow for the opening. There’s nothing like coffee to entice Seattle-ites into walking a few blocks… that is if they don’t get distracted and stop at one of the neighborhood cafes along the way.

Macrina is celebrating it’s sweet 16 today!

Party favors: free coffee of your choice with the purchase of any pastry, at all three of their locations!

Macrina is having its Sweet 16 birthday tomorrow, Thursday, August 26, and to celebrate the cafe will be giving away a free coffee of your choice (Americanos, lattes, not just plain old drip) with any pastry purchase.

Owner Leslie Mackie opened the first Macrina in 1993, and now has three locations throughout the city, in Belltown, Upper Queen Anne, and SODO.

Sweet 16 celebrations will be going on at all three locations. The Queen Anne spot is located at 615 West McGraw Street. Happy birthday Macrina!
