If you’re making plans for Valentine’s Day and need childcare for your special night, check out the Parents’ Night Out at the Queen Anne Community Center. Sigby.com is hosting a night for kids ages 3-10 on Friday, February 15th (yes, a day after Valentine’s – but it’s not the day, but rather the thought that counts… and it’s a Friday!).
Parents’ Night out starts at $15 – you get professional child care from 6:30-9pm and the kids get cheese pizza and fruit while you enjoy your special meal out. There are limited spots available (12 as of this writing), so register now if you’re interested.
And, if you’re the type to plan far in advance, there are also 10 spots available for a March 15th Parents’ Night Out.

Back in January Urban Kids Play in Upper Queen Anne transformed itself from a natural material focused kids toy and supply store to The Play Space, a drop-in childcare service. And though The Play Space is thriving, according to owner Curtis Kingrey, this month they decided to move out of the current location at 1805 Queen Anne Avenue N, opting to relocate the business to their house just a few blocks away.

“Our drop in play service is going well but we’ve decided to close the retail location (the space is designed specifically for retail and we were looking for a more warm and less expensive location) and move our drop in play service to a new location in our house conveniently 5 blocks from our old space,” Kingrey wrote.
The Play Space is also planning to expand its services to include a Waldorf inspired preschool this fall, and is currently enrolling for this and its summer programming. More information here.
