screen-shot-2016-11-26-at-6-59-51-pmOpal is a sweet and smart 8 year old black Lab mix. She has lots of energy for an older pup. Her favorite thing is going out for a walk or short jog, and will gleefully jump around when she knows it’s time to head outside.

Opal is happiest when she gets to run around off-leash in the yard, but is also quite the nap queen when hanging out indoors.

opal-1She’s a little shy and it can take a few minutes for her to warm up to new people, but once she does, she’s extremely affectionate. She loves to snuggle and get belly rubs.

Opal is fully house trained, and will let you know if she needs to go outside by doing a big stretch in front of you. She knows a handful of commands and loves to learn new ones in exchange for treats. She’s a gentle pup and would be fine in a home with kids, but she would do best in a home without other pets.

opal-2Opal (SAS ID#29023838) is being adored in a foster home – but she can’t wait to find her forever home. If you would like to meet her, you must first submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download the application and follow the instructions for submitting via email or fax. Or you may pick up an application at the Shelter.
