Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Bronson

Pet of the Week

On Fridays, [note: this week it’s Sunday] we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Bronson 1Meet Bronson!

Hello! I’m Bronson, Mr. B to my friends. I’m a happy, friendly, older (10 years) springer spaniel and a very charming gentleman, if I do say so myself. I will greet you with a big smile and a whole body wag when you come home – how great would that be!

I am looking for a new forever person or family with some dog experience or willingness to learn with me and provide structure as I settle into my new home. I would love a home with adults only, or with respectful teenagers. I’m very well behaved with my foster sibling cats and parrot, and I greet other dogs of all sizes very politely when we are on walks. I think I’d share a house well with other dogs as long as I didn’t get picked on and they didn’t take my toys. I love people very much and will turn in happy circles whenever I get excited.

Bronson 2I walk nicely on a leash, but don’t require a ton of exercise. A leisurely walk around the neighborhood is fine by me, and if you happen to live near water, I might like to play in that. I would love a home with someone who is retired or works from home. Or maybe I could go to work with you?

My foster mom says something about me not liking crates and kennels. I get to be in the entire house while my foster mom and dad are at work because I have perfect house manners, and I wait patiently for them to come home. My foster mom lets me out about every 6 hours during the day, and I could probably learn to use a dog door because I’m very smart. I ride well in the car and I behaved very well in the pet store when we went for a visit. I even went to a party and was told I could visit any time.

Bronson 3I’ve recently been to the vet to have a couple of teeth that were hurting me removed, along with a benign tumor. Now I’m in great shape (and feeling better too!) and ready for my new home. I’d really love to meet you, so why not fill out an application to meet me?!

This wonderful dog qualifies for the Shelter’s Senior Citizen Discount program. Senior citizens or disabled adults with a ‘Gold Card for Healthy Aging’ or a ‘FLASH’ card, issued by the City of Seattle, may adopt an adult dog (at least six years old) at a special price: there will be no fee for the adoption itself, and the licensing fee will be half-price!

Bronson (SAS ID #15-7454) is being adored in a foster home, he is not at the Shelter. If you would like to meet him, you must submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download the application and follow the instructions for submitting it via email or fax. Or, you may pick up an application at the Shelter. If you have general questions about Bronson, you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at 206-386-4294.
