Local News, Queen Anne Business

Umbrella TreeNearly two years ago, we got word from Twirl Café that it was closing its community gathering spot at 2111 Queen Anne Ave N, and Umbrella Tree was already lined up to take over the location. Now, Umbrella Tree is closing as well.

Here’s information from the notice we received from Umbrella Tree this morning:

Two years ago in August, we founded Umbrella Tree. Last Fall, we seized the opportunity to open our first education studio by taking over the existing lease from Twirl Cafe.  Change is difficult for most people, but you were very supportive and welcomed us with open arms; and we are sincerely grateful.

It is with heavy heart, but at the same time, filled with hope, that we share the news of our studio closing. Our last day of operation in the current space will be August 12th.

Umbrella Tree will be open and offering programs and classes through August 12th. You can find out more about their plans in an online FAQ. No word yet on who’ll take over the space, stay tuned.
