We’ve had quite a few businesses leave Queen Anne in the past few years, but fear not, some mom & pop businesses are still going strong. Queen Anne Frame is one of those shops, and it’s celebrating 26 years in business on Queen Anne this month.

The frame shop first opened its doors on McGraw St in 1989. It was then known as the McGraw Frame Shop and owner Philip Amdal, a professional photographer, opened it “on a shoestring” budget.

In 1997, the shop moved to 1621 Queen Anne Ave N, expanding the business and changing the name to reflect the new location. Avenue Arts joined the family-owned business in 2000. Philip’s wife Joan Webster, an artist, runs the Avenue Arts gift shop side of the business.

According to Philip: “The best part of doing this work is meeting the customers and hearing their stories. I take great pride in the art and craft of framing and making the finished piece as perfect as possible.”

To celebrate 26 years on Queen Anne, the shop is running a special framing offer for the entire month of June. Twenty-six popular frames are 26% off – and if you choose one of the anniversary frames, your entire framing order is 26% off.

Stop by Queen Anne Frame & Avenue Arts this month to wish them a happy anniversary, and many more to come!
