Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Kiki

Pet of the Week

On Fridays [this week it’s Saturday] we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Tuesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Mama (dedicated lap cat) – available for adoption
Thea (black and white kitty) – available for adoption
Abby & Phinn (lovey dovey pair of doves) – available for adoption
Mama & Sydney (social cockatiels) – available for adoption
Iggy Azalea (snuggly iguana) – available for adoption
Buttercup (hippity hoppity bunny) – available for adoption
Walter & Jesse (friendly pair of rats) – available for adoption

Kiki 3Meet Kiki!

Kiki is an older gentleman with few needs other than a warm place to curl up his slightly arthritic limbs and an occasional head rub. Sweet but undemanding, he likes to be near you but not necessarily on you – a perfect low-key companion for a first time cat owner or someone who is a wee bit of a curmudgeon themselves.

Kiki 2Kiki was found abandoned and running loose – who could walk away from that wise and pensive face? He’s about 14 years old, but could easily be a contented, healthy, happy foot warmer at the end of your bed for several more years. To keep his renal system healthy, he is on a special food that’s readily accessible at any vet’s office. Won’t you give this dude a cozy spot to spend his golden years?

Kiki 1This wonderful cat qualifies for the Senior Citizen Discount program: senior citizens or disabled adults with a ‘Gold Card for Healthy Aging’, or a ‘FLASH’ card, issued by the City of Seattle, may adopt an adult cat (at least six years old) at a special price: no fee for the adoption itself and the licensing fee will be half-price!

Kiki (SAS ID #14-13775) is being adored in a foster home; he is not at the Shelter. If you would like to meet him, please call the Foster Care Hotline at 206-684-0685 to arrange a meeting. Thank you!
