Uptown ParkletJust shy of a year ago, the city of Seattle announced that its Pilot Parklet Program selected Uptown as one of 10 new parklets. The Uptown Alliance applied for the Uptown Parklet last February, and it’s now a reality with a grand opening planned for this Saturday, February 21st.

Located in front of SIFF Cinema Uptown near the corner of Queen Anne Ave N and Republican St, the Uptown Parklet will provide a meeting spot for the community, complete with a new Little Free Library.

The Grand Opening runs from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, February 21st. The Mayor and SDOT representatives will speak at 1:30pm, formally announcing the transition of the Parklet Program from a pilot to a permanent program.

Snacks and coffee will be available, stop by to help the Uptown Alliance celebrate this key milestone that was made possible by the support of Uptown Alliance members, the Uptown community, SIFF, SDOT, and the volunteer time provided by Slater Construction and VIA Architecture’s Community Design Studio.
