Sad news today – local eatery Grub is closing. Its last day is this Sunday’s brunch service (February 15th). Owner Sharon Fillingim sent us the following statement:
It is with both joy and sadness to announce the sale and closure of Grub.
I have had the immense pleasure of serving my community as well as receiving such tremendous support from my community which in turn; has made Grub a huge success.
As some entrepreneurs believe, it is best to leave at the top of their game and to decide when that time is. Although it was a difficult decision to make, I leave Grub with such great memories of the many customers who have come to dine, and for the many customers who have followed me throughout the years.
I look forward to my future opportunities in this wonderful industry, perhaps consulting others in their pursuits of their vision and dreams.
The last day of service will be Brunch- Sunday, February 15, 2015. 8:00 am- 3:00 pm. I hope this week, you can stop by to say farewell. We will be honoring all gift cards this week as well.

Sharon also announced that a new restaurant, the new Bounty Kitchen, will be moving into the space. Owned by Queen Anne resident, Meg Trainer, the new restaurant, Bounty Kitchen, will open in mid-April:

We produce all of our food in house with 100% organic produce for our innovative salads, house-made dressings, soups, and sandwiches. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, we also feature beer, wine and wonderful coffee and desserts!
With a passion for engaged customer service and happy team members, Bounty Kitchen is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Meg Trainer and Russ Raade. Meg and Russ call Queen Anne their home and they have built a cracker-jack team with Chef Morgan Kirkpatrick leading the kitchen and Eddie Morris leading our front-of-house operations.
Bounty plans a mid-April opening after a remodel designed by Graham Baba Architects of Seattle, Washington.
