A reader sent in a photo of a sign posted on 8th W and Raye St, across from the Mt Pleasant Cemetery – someone has stolen a local artist’s paper mache Seahawk:

Taking (or stealing) a unique Seahawk right before the Super Bowl seems especially low. This particular hawk has been outside during the football season for the past two years, but now he’s gone missing. Queen Anne residents, especially kids, have taken a keen interest in the Seahawk. The reader who sent us the photo did so because she was sad to see that someone had stooped so low.

Dan aka “the Monster Man” updated the Seahawk for this season, so the photos below have an older color scheme. The 2 foot tall hawk currently has a silver belly and green eyes, and a white and blue beak to match the new team logo.

He’s hoping to have the Seahawk returned, so if you spot it or know of its whereabouts, let us know.

We all know that property theft is becoming a common occurrence on Queen Anne, but this theft will hit close to home for all 12s. Keep an eye out for Dan’s Seahawk, let’s see if we can bring it home to roost! Go Hawks!
