Jabus Pub

New home for Streamline Tavern

New Year’s Eve was the last night for the Streamline Tavern at its Mercer St location.

As reported nearly a year ago, the Streamline was one of several businesses that had to vacate the block on Mercer by the end of 2014 to make way for a new South Korean Consulate.

The Streamline owners purchased the former home of Jabu’s Pub on Roy St in September in anticipation of the December 31st deadline. Jabu’s held a farewell celebration in September as ownership changed hands.

The Streamline is busy moving into the new digs and that means heavy lifting and moving some items by hand. The bar is taking the iconic Streamline sign with it, as well as the bar counter top. The sign nearly fit in a truck bed, the counter top and other big items were moved via foot.

The Streamline will be open at 174 Roy Street by the end of this month. Keep an eye out for the Streamline sign going up soon on the building.
