Today Twirl Café announced that it will close on October 31st. The community gathering spot for kids and their families has hosted many movie nights, classes, meals, and happy hours. But, while it’s the end for Twirl, it’s also the beginning for Umbrella Tree.
An education studio that launched in January of this year, Umbrella Tree will take over the Twirl spot at 2111 Queen Anne Ave N. Umbrella Tree will offer classes and services for kids up to five years old and their parents/guardians. An open house celebration is planned for early December.
Umbrella Tree won’t be completely new to many Twirl customers, as it’s been offering classes at Twirl since January of this year. Plus, they were behind the Backpack Drive for Northwest Center in August of this year. Owners Arlene Sargeant, Louise Books, and Kelly Singer know the Queen Anne community and look forward to providing classes and services in 5 categories: play, education, wellness, community, and home.
Umbrella Tree will also offer birthday parties and drop-in play in the “Umbrella Room” playspace.
As for Twirl, the café will honor outstanding gift certificates, punch cards, and other credits until October 31st. According to Twirl owner Rebecca Pelletier: “As a Mom and resident of the Queen Anne community, I have treasured every moment serving and supporting moms in this neighborhood, and beyond. I’m excited about what’s next for the Twirl Cafe space.”
October 31st will be the last day to play at Twirl, and the café will participate in the annual Trick-or-Treating on Queen Anne Ave N. will be October 31.
