Mayor Ed Murray to visit Queen Anne Farmers Market this Thursday

One thing’s for sure, the Queen Anne Farmers Market celebrates our community. This week, farmers markets across the country are being recognized with National Farmers Market Week, and ours is no exception. In fact, it’s going to be exceptional!

Mayor Ed Murray will be visiting the Queen Anne Farmers Market this Thursday in honor of National Farmers Market Week. It’s a great chance for the Mayor to see our market in action, and speak with residents about how important farmers markets are to building healthy, vibrant communities.

The Mayor is expected to speak at the Community Table at 5pm. He’ll also be taking a tour of the market and visiting the Big Tree fundraiser.

QAFM will have tasty samples, recipe cards to give away, live music, and a kid’s activity to go along with the celebration. You can check out the full schedule below:

Sample Fresh Farmers Market Recipes for Kids & Adults / Event Tent
4pm: Pick up recipe cards that celebrate National Farmers Market Week and check out samples of a tasty summer beet salad and a kid-friendly fruit fizz.

5pm: See above!

Live Music: PK Dwyer
5-7pm: PK was the very first busker at the Pike Place Market, he’s a Seattle institution. He’s been entertaining audiences with his heartfelt  folk music for more than 30 years!

So, go along with your usual plans to shop at the QAFM this week, but make a special note to stop by the Community Table at 5pm to hear the Mayor and show our community’s support for the Queen Anne Farmers Market!
