Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Angie & Ninja

Pet of the Week

On Fridays we feature an adoptable pet from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS). SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Updates on previous pets:
Chinchillas – available for adoption
Mama (tabby kitty) – available for adoption
Cosmo (yellow lab mix) – available for adoption
Pounce (silky grey cat) – available for adoption
Lizzie (black chihuahua pup) – available for adoption
Elsa (white kitty) – available for adoption

Angie & Ninja

Allow us to introduce ourselves – First, I’m Angie, a pleasantly plump cattle dog mix of a ‘certain age’.  My dear, lifelong friend Ninja (a labrador retriever) and I have arrived here at the shelter so that we might find our retirement home, together.  Though I’m not a silly young pup anymore – I’m still quite spry and am active, outgoing and LOVE attention. When I’m out and about, and meet a friendly looking canine, I’m quick to give them a play bow.  One of my best features, I think, is my big toothy grin. Some years ago, I was attacked by a not-so-friendly dog, and I was left with part of my face missing. But please don’t be concerned – it causes me no bother, and it just gives me a unique look!

Ninja Pet of Week 1Now it’s my turn – Ninja.  I’m a dapper, distinguished gentleman dog, full of the wisdom that comes with age. Though my name may imply I’m highly trained in the martial arts and stealth – those days are behind me now.  I’m quite content with simple things like walking around the neighborhood, and a nice soft bed for napping on. I am a bit thin and look forward to putting on some weight. Sometimes when I’m not looking, Angie has been known to sneak in and gobble up my dinner before I have a chance! Such a silly girl – I love her anyway!

Angie & NinjaWe would be honored to become part of your family. We have indeed been together all of our lives, and we wish to remain a pair.  We depend on each other, keep each other company, and give each other strength. We are pretty easy keepers – we’re house trained, easy to handle, gentle and relaxed. If you have a bit of dog experience and a zen-like household, we might fit right in.  We still like our daily walks, but none of that foolish jogging! We wouldn’t mind sharing our new home with a cat, or another dog, as long as we’re all compatible. We understand you’ll want to give us some thought before making the decision to adopt us – please know we’ll fill your home with unconditional love and gratitude, x2 !!

Angie (SAS ID #14-15970-2) and Ninja (SAS ID #14-15970-1) are currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet them, you must submit a Dog Adoption Application to SAS. Download the application and follow the instructions for submitting it via email or fax. Or, you may pick up an application at the Shelter. If you have general questions about these dogs, you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at 206-386-4294.  Thanks!
