It’s finally here, opening day of the Queen Anne Farmers Market! QAFM opens tomorrow, Thursday, June 5 and the season runs through October 16. Market hours are 3pm to 7:30pm, and the market will be at its usual spot at W Crockett and Queen Anne Ave N.

This year, QAFM features over 50 farms, artisan food vendors, and street food vendors. There are both regular food trucks – at the market every week – and rotating food trucks that change each week. This week, Stomani Cellars is the featured winery, and the rotating food trucks are The Grilled Cheese Experience and Off The Rez.

You can check out the full list of all the vendors online, and here’s the schedule of events for opening day:

Free Concerts:

  • 3:00-5:00pm: Patchy Sanders  from Ashland, OR. A seven-piece folk orchestra with “the kind of warm vibe that makes you feel like you’re part of a gypsy caravan,” says bandmate, Mason Jennings.
  • 5:00-7:00pm: The Ramblin’ Years Capital Hill’s own Alt-country, rhythm & blues & good old rock’n’roll band.

3rd Annual Radish Race

  • 4:00pm: Kids ages 5-13 compete in QAFM’s Annual Radish Race: Race down Produce Row while balancing a fresh radish on a very small spoon. Great prizes for winner and great fun for all!

QAFM Taste of Summer

  • 5:00-7:00pm: Stop by our event tent for complimentary samples of the market team’s favorite summer dishes, featuring fresh fruits & veggies from our local farms (while they last).

The weather forecast looks great, so plan on getting outside and to the market!
