You’ve likely noticed that many Queen Anne businesses adorn their walls with artwork from local artists. It’s a great way for artists to get exposure and help keep our businesses beautiful at the same time. However, Queen Anne has been lacking an organized art walk – until now.

Starting next Wednesday, March 19th, the Uptown Art Walk kicks off a monthly tour-de-art. The group that’s organizing the walk has lined up the following local businesses to take part in the walk:

Uptown Art Walk

  • Caffe Vita
  • The Vera Project
  • SIFF
  • Tin Lizzie Lounge
  • Queen Anne Psychic
  • Cafe GoldinBlack
  • Pink’s – The Beauty Boutique
  • Oskar’s Kitchen
  • Liberty Tattoo Seattle
  • The Mecca Cafe
  • Peridot Boutique
  • Mercer Street Books
  • Pagliacci
  • Toulouse Petit
  • Obasan

According to the Uptown Art Walk organizers:

“We were encouraged and facilitated by Charley Shore, the Executive Director of the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce and were inspired to do something to involve the community businesses in the art that we see all around us in Uptown in what is becoming a real Seattle arts corridor.”

Going forward, the Uptown Art Walk will take place every third Wednesday of the month. The March event highlights the block around the corner of Queen Anne Ave N and Mercer St, and the April event will be on Roy St.

All are welcome to join the Art Walk! It runs til 7:30pm. And, an update: Pagliacci will host a Live Acoustic Music night during the Art Walk. Live music and hot slices beginning at 5pm on Wednesday at the Queen Anne location.
