December pumpkins on Queen Anne

Seems a bit odd to have a pumpkin story in December, but apparently there are still some around.

On a loop around Queen Anne today, I spotted two that had been disposed of… but not in a food waste bin. Instead, they were smashed on the road near Bhy Kracke Park and in a parking strip near John Hay Elementary.

So what happens to pumpkins in December? Apparently their insides turn to linguine. Who wreaked destruction on these pumpkins is an unknown, perhaps their former owners or a mischievous 3rd party.

A late, but apparently still relevant reminder: if you still have Halloween pumpkins, you can put them in your yard waste/food waste bin.
