Help light up Queen Anne for the holidays

Every year, the trees along Queen Anne Ave N on Upper Queen Anne sparkle with white lights, adding a festive feel to our neighborhood and the Holiday Magic event in December. In the past, the Queen Anne merchants and Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce have generously paid for lighting the trees, but it’s expensive for our small businesses at about $200 per tree.

Plus, if you haven’t noticed, we have quite a few empty storefronts along Queen Anne Ave N, and that means big gaps in the tree lights. Those bare trees look so lonely during our long winter nights!

That’s where you come in – you can help light up Queen Anne Ave N for the holidays with a donation of any amount. The number of trees lit this year will be dependent on funds raised by both businesses and residents, and our local HomeStreet Bank branch (1835 Queen Anne Ave N) has set up an account to help light the trees for Holiday Magic.

How can you help? Stop by or send a check to HomeStreet Bank for any amount you’d like to donate – no donation is too small. 100% of the money donated will be given to the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce, a registered non-profit, to support the Queen Anne Tree Lighting.

How to Make a Queen Anne Tree Light Donation:

1) Walk into HomeStreet Bank and make a deposit to the “Holiday Magic” account

2) Mail a check  payable to “Holiday Magic” to HomeStreet at:
Home Street Bank
Attn: Holiday Magic
1835 Queen Anne Ave N

Help make our neighborhood festive and fun, and when you see the sparkling lights along Queen Anne Ave this holiday season, remember that the lights are community supported!
