The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) is headed to the Puget Sound region to play in Tacoma at the end of this month. To help out the team with travel and lodging costs, local Queen Anne watering hole Sully’s is hosting a fundraiser on Tuesday, August 27th.
The WWAST team has a roster of veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs post-9/11, while serving in the military. The team has players from all over the country, hence the need for travel and lodging assistance.
The Labor Day weekend game will be the team’s first visit to the Northwest, and Sully’s wants to make them feel welcome. Stop by Sully’s on Tuesday, August 27, to have a drink and pub fare, with 10% of all sales going to support the team.
