Weekend Roundup – On & Around Queen Anne

Weekend Roundup

Summer continues! But, for some of us, the highlight this weekend may be the drop in high temps back to the 70s… but, also lots of events and quite a few are free! Start out on Friday with a free, 1-hour Shakespeare production in David Rodgers Park and check out the cult classic Princess Bride for free at the Mural Amphitheater on Saturday. And, Seafair is ramping up this weekend with the Torchlight Run and Torchlight Parade on Saturday evening, both starting at the Seattle Center (the run ends there as well). Regardless, plenty to do and the natural Seattle A/C should kick in on Saturday!

Traffic:

  • Southbound I-5: closed under the Convention Center Friday 11:59pm to 5am, Saturday, July 28 while WSDOT tests the fire suppression system. Traffic will be rerouted off at Stewart, then left onto Fifth Avenue, then left onto Spring Street and back onto I-5.
  • 15th Ave W: Lane closures on 15th Ave W, Sunday, July 28, 8am-4pm for median work. SDOT will close one inside lane on each side of 15th Ave West from the south end of the Ballard Bridge to just south of West Dravus Street
