The Queen Anne Farmers Market returns Thursday with all the things you love about the market – fresh fruits and veggies, meats, seafood, flowers, food, and entertainment. We’re starting to enter the full-swing of the growing season, and after last week’s day-off (July 4th), the market will have all sorts of new in-season market goods so you can restock your kitchen!
And, speaking of kitchens, take a look around and see what kitchen items you have that you either no longer need, or perhaps are saving for a yard sale… why? This week’s market provides the opportunity to donate those gently used kitchen items to the International Rescue Committee of Seattle. (and new items are welcome too!)
The IRC of Seattle will be at the market, led by QAFM volunteer Liz O’Connell, to collect new and gently used kitchen items. Founded by Albert Einstein in 1933, the IRC responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises by helping people survive and rebuild their lives.
Anyone who brings donations will get special treats as a thank you, courtesy of Whole Foods Market – plus, a great day at the QAFM for all!
