Seattle is known as the Emerald City because it’s so green here. These days it may be partly due to I-502, but it’s mostly because of the trees. Spend this Earth Day, Sunday April 21st, learning a bit about our urban canopy during a tree walk at the Seattle Center. The walk is from 1pm to 3pm and starts at the Fisher Pavilion. Find out which trees have been around since the 1962 World’s Fair, which tree marks the site of a time capsule, and which tree might one day top 200 feet in height.
And if just past the crack of noon is too early to start your Sunday, you can always download a copy of the walk and enjoy it at your leisure.
