Seattle Animal Shelter Pet of the Week: Princess

Pet of the Week

Starting this week, we’ll be featuring an adoptable pet of the week from the Seattle Animal Shelter (SAS) on Fridays. SAS is located at 2061 15th Ave W, just north of Whole Foods, at the corner of W. Armory Way. SAS is open Wednesday – Sunday, noon-6pm.

Some of the pets that you’ll see each Friday are in foster care, which means they’re not at the Shelter but instead living in a volunteer’s home; if that’s the case, the weekly post will include instructions on how to meet these pets. Queen Anne View has not met any of these pets – SAS is providing us with the description, as they know them well. We encourage potential adopters to get in touch with SAS and work with them to evaluate the compatibility of your home and a new pet.

Without further ado, meet our first pet of the week, Princess!

Princess is the perfect name for this tiny Chihuahua pup. She is a wonderful, sweet, four year old lap dog who would be a good choice for someone considering a first dog. A mellow girl with a charming personality, Princess has a very special marking on her coat that looks just like a heart. She also has a bit of playful goofiness in her that you will see when she rolls around on her back. Princess is calm, relaxed, eager to please and cooperative. She loves being held and cuddled. Princess is very treat motivated, especially if cheese is the treat. She will make a wonderful companion for snuggling on the couch and watching TV, followed by a leisurely stroll.

Princess would do best in an adult only home because of her small size, but could possibly live with respectful children that are 10+ years old. She might enjoy living with another canine companion, and does ok with cats. Come meet Princess today – this little girl with the big heart is bound to steal yours.

Princess (SAS #13-1672) is being adored in a Seattle Animal Shelter foster home. If you would like to meet this dog, you must submit a Dog Adoption Application to the Seattle Animal Shelter. Download the application and follow the instructions for submission via email or fax. If you have general questions about this dog, you may call the Shelter’s Animal Care Staff at 206-386-4294.
