Remember when SDOT announced that Fairview Ave N was opening this past weekend? And we said it’d still be messy? Well, here’s the latest from SDOT on intermittent lane restrictions on Mercer and Fairview Ave N (yes, the road that just opened this past Saturday) that begin tomorrow, Thursday, March 14, and run through Friday, March 22 – while SDOT adds landscaping and a pole for a Dynamic Messaging Sign (DMS) for travel time estimates (which we all know will always be longer than they should be):
- Westbound Mercer: single lane restricted between Boren and Terry for the installation of the DMS. The far left lane of westbound Mercer will be restricted during off-peak hours from 10am to 4pm
- Eastbound Mercer: single lane restricted between 8th Ave N and Westlake as crews repair a signal mast-arm on either Thursday, March 21 or Friday, March 22. The far right lane of eastbound Mercer will be restricted during off-peak hours from 8am to 2pm. (How is 8am off-peak? That’s rush hour!)
- Fairview: intermittent curb lane restrictions between Mercer and Harrison as crews complete electrical pole foundation work and landscaping installation. Lane restrictions on both north and southbound lanes during off-peak hours from 9am to 3pm. (Again, 9am is off-peak?)
Anyway, for future reference, here’s the Mercer stage 4 map again:
