February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, a month sponsored by the American Dental Association to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Good dental health habits, such as daily dental care and regular dentist visits, are important to begin at an early age so kids can get a head-start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
Here’s what our local Queen Anne kids’ dentists are doing in February:
Little Pearls Kids Dentistry is hosting an in-office event on February 13th – bring your kids to meet Dr. Dan at the Little Pearls office between 2pm and 5pm. Snacks will be served, and all kids that stop by to say “hello” will get an oral health goodie bag, a balloon, and an entry to win a kids Sonicare toothbrush gift basket.
And, on February 25th, Little Pearls and Twirl Café are co-hosting a FREE all-ages event at 10am at Twirl. “Every Kid Can Have a Gold Medal Smile” with Dr. Dan will include a dental story time and art activity. Dr. Dan will be also be answering parents’ questions regarding children’s dental care. If you have questions about thumb sucking, first dental visits, or how and when to clean your child’s teeth, this event is for you. Balloons and dental goodie bags will be given to all children that attend.
Seattle Kids Dentistry is scheduling educational visits in February with local pre-schools and kindergartens to teach kids about taking care of their smiles. The office takes great pride in educating families about the importance of making oral hygiene a part of their every day lives. In addition to working at the Queen Anne/Interbay practice, the Seattle Kids Dentistry doctors also work in underserved communities both locally and beyond.
