Help Out with a Civilized War of Words – Debate Volunteers Needed

January 20th, 2013 by Laura Fonda

Local kids are facing off next weekend in a debate tournament, and volunteers are needed for this battle of pros and cons. DebateAble is an afterschool Debate program for 4th & 5th grade students that attend Queen Anne and Magnolia public schools. Participating Queen Anne schools include John Hay, Coe, and Queen Anne Elementary, and the first cross-school Debate Tournament is next Saturday January 26th at Catharine Blaine K-8 School from 8:30am-11:30am.

The DebateAble organizers need volunteers to help with judging, scoring and various other debate activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Christine via email or at 206.301.9507.

And, if you’re interested in registering your 4th or 5th grader in the program, the Spring session begins February 25 – May 2013, with a Tournament scheduled for June 1st.
