Remember when Met Market was at the top of the hill and the flowers from the floral department lined Queen Anne Ave N instead of a huge pit in the ground? If you don’t, one of our banner photos above may jog your memory… Well, if you’ve been missing a shop on the top of the hill for custom floral arrangements, simple bouquets, or even single stem flowers, you’re in luck! A reader sent us a tip on some construction activity at 1422 Queen Anne Ave, and we now have confirmation that Pistil Flowers & Gifts will be opening in the spot next Friday, January 25th.
Laurie Gardner and Colin Stewart own the new flower shop and will be leveraging their experience as custom floral designers with Pistil Design, a studio that has focused on weddings, events and designs for daily delivery on Queen Anne for the past few years. Laurie and Colin are now expanding beyond the design studio with the new retail flower shop that will provide fresh flowers and gifts on the top of Queen Anne.
At Pistil Flowers & Gifts, customers will be able to pick up fresh flowers by the stem, ready-made mixed bouquets, houseplants, and gifts. Plus, the shop will provide custom flower arrangements and design service for weddings, corporate and private events, with daily deliveries in the greater Seattle area. Pistil sources the majority of their flower designs with local and organic flowers, supporting local farmers and floriculture in the region.
Co-owner Laurie Gardner is a Master Gardener with 20+ years of experience in the floral industry. As Pistil grows, she plans to offer seasonal design classes on creating both simple and elegant designs, as well as container gardening.
