As noted in the previous entry’s comments, the fire was not quite in Upper Queen Anne, which I discovered when I walked over there and found, like the old jokes, it was uphill both ways. By the time I arrived we were down to a bunch of news people interviewing each other, so I shot some pictures and eavesdropped a bit, but heard nothing that wasn’t already in the the paper– that the house had been abandoned for some time and was taken over by squatters.
The house was deceptively large– one of those that looks less prepossessing from the street side, but is built over a hillside so the back of the house sort of spills down behind, as revealed in these videos:
