The McClure Middle School PTSA’s Mixer and Silent Auction is this Saturday, March 31st, at 7 pm at the Queen Anne Community Center. The McClure Mixer is designed to give the entire McClure community of adults a chance to socialize and support McClure. Meet other families and talk to McClure staff in an informal atmosphere, as the Mixer gets away from the idea of an upscale fundraising event,  with an emphasis on fun and community building. The $25 ticket and optional participation in the silent auction help reach the PTSA’s budget goals for the year. Just by being there, you help build the McClure adult community. The Mixer is open to all adults wishing to support the McClure PTSA.

The City Council is holding a public hearing on a proposed Library levy at 5:30 P.M. on April 3, Seattle City Hall, Floor 2, 600 Fourth Avenue. The Library has endured five rounds of budget cuts since 2009, resulting in reductions to hours, collections, and staffing. The proposed levy gives the Seattle Public Library a funding lift that would restore hours and staffing to branches, improve collections, upgrade technology, and maintain library buildings for the next generation. Show your support! Represent your neighborhood library by attending the public hearing. If you’re planning to attend, please email  advocacy@friendsofspl.org for more information. You can also express your support by contacting the City Council.
