New bubble tea/coffee shop coming to Uptown

Another coffee shop is opening in Lower Queen Anne, but this one has a bit of a twist—it will also serve bubble tea, a sweetly flavored Taiwanese tea/fruit drink served with small tapioca balls, also known as “pearls,” “boba,” or “bubbles.”

These signs recently went up in some available retail space at 594 3rd Ave W, near W Republican Street.

We’re not sure when this coffee shop/bubble team parlor plans to open. No permit applications for this location have been filed with the city, and so far we haven’t been able to reach the owners.

But the sign in the window promises that “this will be big.”

Reader Justin Golub emailed us these photos, along with some thoughts on the coming shop, which he says could reveal a need in this high-residence, low-retail part of Queen Anne. “This is an area with not a ton of commercial/retail development around it, so could be an interesting niche,” he says.

Thanks to Justin for the photos!
