That deafening thunder you may have heard in Queen Anne and surrounding neighborhoods last night, was preceded by some lightning at the Ballard Locks. According to the Army Corps of Engineers, the Locks were hit by lightening last night, knocking out power to a large portion of the grounds. The large locks are closed today for repairs, while the small locks remain open for through traffic.
