Zaw artisan pizza will be the newest chow spot to join the ranks of rookie restaurants on the top of the hill, set to open at 1635 Queen Anne Ave. N., on the corner of Queen Anne Ave N. and W Blaine St., the previous site of a Bank of American Home Loans branch.
Zaw makes custom bake-at-home pizzas and salads for pickup and delivery, along with selling Northwest wines and microbrews out of their stores. Word got out when the restaurant, which already has locations in Ballard, South Lake Union and Capitol Hill, applied for a liquor license at the beginning of the month.
When tipster Mark Taylor heard Zaw was coming to Queen Anne, he did some investigating himself,
I sent mail to the manager and he said that with luck they hope to open by the end of March.

I was lucky enough to attend a dinner hosted by the owners at their main Zaw kitchen, and it was awesome.
The vast majority of the food is locally grown, they deliver organic salads, pizza and possibly beer and wine(they do at their other locations.) Crazy but true.

People with Celiac Disease or other kinds of wheat allergies will be happy to know they make a gluten-free pizza. (not as good as Romio's in Greenwood's GF pizza , but Romio's doesn't deliver all the way down here)

Zaw is good, but I think it's highly overpriced for a take and bake pizza. For the amount they charge it should be a sit down restaurant.

Really? Another Pizza joint on Queen Anne..Should start calling it Pizza Hill instead of Queen Anne Hill.
Why can't someone with restaurant knowledge open a place like the Attic in Madison Park. The Hill is in desparate need of a neighborhood place like that.

My wife and I've been trekking to the Ballard location at least once a week for the last year so it'll be great to have them closer to home. Don't let the word pizza in the name distract you, as this place is definitely not your run of the mill pizza joint. They make a thin whole wheat crust that is the best tasting crust on earth. We get the deal with the pizza salad and wine for $32. Wines are cheaper than Safeway.

Exciting news. Love their pizza and like how I feel after eating it. My sister loves them too as she eats gluten free and zaw is the only one she has liked in Seattle.
