Mayor-elect McGinn to hold town hall next week

November 23rd, 2009 · Comments

Mayor-elect Mike McGinn is holding a town hall meeting on Monday, November 30 in north Seattle to give people a chance to share their thoughts about the future direction of Seattle.

“I ran for mayor to change the way we do politics in this city. Our transition is no different. We’re open sourcing it to the community — so that we get your best ideas, and so that you know what’s going on in your government. I have committed to making this the most transparent transition Seattle has ever seen,” McGinn wrote on the transition website, new.seattle.gov.

The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Northgate Community Center, located at 10510 5th Ave. NE. This meeting is the first of three to be held during the transition. The other two will be in central and south Seattle. Read more about the transition here.

I have an idea. Don't lie to get elected. Nice thought. Let's give it a go.

Kate, now that he is elected can you please put your personal grudge on hold? I'm sorry you lost to him in the Greenwood race but if you're going to comment on the mayor-elect let's keep it to the policies and the issues. It will be great to have someone around who will be watching him like a hawk, but keep it to the issues otherwise you'll lose any credibility when you have a legitimate complaint on something that does affect you and all of us.
