Opal Bistro will say c’est la vie on Saturday

October 26th, 2009 · Comments

Opal Bistro will be closing for business this week and is going out with a bang on Halloween night.

In an email newsletter to their customers the bistro and staff wrote, “Please help spread the word and join us for another evening one last time! We want to thank our customers, especially our loyal regulars for their continued support and friendships. It has been a memorable journey and we look forward to seeing all of you again soon!”

@aguynamedbry: What does having ' foie gras on the menu in the first few days of opening' have to do with anything? That's really a reason to 'vow' never to eat there? Sounds serious!

I thought they had a great happy selection of food and drink, and a nice patio for sitting outside in the summer to people watch. I wish them well and hope they replace it with a great new concept.

When you have foie gras on the menu in the first few days of opening (per a check of the menu on the window).... well... My wife and I vowed to never eat there.

What is it about that location? It killed off the only (if substandard) Indian restaurant that was there before Opal. Maybe Taste of India should take over the spot and make it humm.

The rule of thumb is that the 3rd restaurant in a spot is the one that makes it.
