Upper QA Blockbuster closing, everything for sale

August 24th, 2009 · 3 Comments

The Blockbuster located at 1630 Queen Anne Avenue North is closing. According to a sign posted on their door, they’ve lost their lease and are selling everything.

A Blockbuster employee says they are no longer renting at the location. Instead everything in the store is up for sale at clearance prices. The sale begins today and continues for a month until the lease is up.

Hurry and stock up! Rumor has it movies are going for as little as $2 a pop.

Their attempt to go to war with Netflix was doomed from the start I think. Bring out the scales again, Hmmm.

I'm not really sorry to see them go. They may have been stocked in new films, but they virtually had no selection in foreign film, special interest, and did not have most older films available on dvd.

They would call down to Lower, and they wouldn't have films either.

Can't wait to see who will take the lease over though. Hope it's something really useful.

It'll probably be another yoga studio.
