Remember our neighbors on Fulton who tore out the blackberry bushes on their public property and re-planted?  Their efforts were funded via a grant from the city.

The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is hosting two technical assistance workshops to help community organizations learn how to apply for the Small & Simple Project Fund through the Neighborhood Matching Fund. Participants will learn everything from developing their project idea to understanding permitting requirements in preparation for the August 31 application deadline, the last application cycle of the year.  The workshops are free and will be taught by Neighborhood Matching Fund project managers.

The Neighborhood Matching Fund Program provides cash awards to community organizations for neighborhood-based projects. One of its programs, the Small and Simple Projects Fund, accepts applications for projects that request up to $15,000 and that can be completed in twelve months. The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods works to bring government closer to our residents through civic engagement, community empowerment and involvement by all residents for the betterment of their community.
