Join us for Afternoon Tea at the Seattle Teacup which will feature a discussion with to learn more about refugee resettlement & support the International Rescue Committee. The Seattle office of the International Rescue Committee empowers refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking to achieve self-sufficiency, community integration, and independence as they rebuild their lives in King County. Since 1976, more than 19,000 refugees from over 30 countries have resettled in Washington State with the help of the IRC. The IRC Seattle expects to serve 500 refugees during FY2009.
Tea and discussion will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 6:00-7:30pm at the Seattle Teacup, 2128 Queen Anne Ave N, Seattle WA 98109. The guest speaker is a former refugee who has established a new life for herself in the Seattle area.
