Vegetables brought to you by SeattleFarm

April 13th, 2009 by Miss Kitty

In the last year or so, more and more attention has been placed on consuming  fresh produce, the need to “go green” by buying local goods, and, of course, our desire to cut costs while being “kind to the planet.”

A new concept in urban living comes to Queen Anne via SeattleFarm. In January, 2009, Seattle MicroFarm, LLC developed the seattlefarmTM service. Founders Grant Jones and Rob Fletcher set out to change the way Seattleites get their food.  According to the SeattleFarm website,

Through our actions, we hope to change the food culture in Seattle. Growing food where it will be consumed is the solution to many of the environmental and economic problems our society faces today.

There are two primary services being offered by this new venture:

1) Vegetable garden services
2) CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Produce delivery

Enjoy the bounty of fresh produce grown in your backyard.  You can have raised vegetable gardens installed and maintained by the crew of Seattle Farm.  Excess goods can also be shared with your neighbors as they might share with you if you join the CSA Produce delivery program.

All this information and much much more can be found on SeattleFarm’s website.

Eat Local, a ready-prepared, organic food retailer is a partner of SeattleFarm.
